Thoughts from the community
Thank you so much for welcoming me into your school community. I had a wonderful day..thanks to all of you who opened your classrooms to me, not always a comfortable thing to do..

Thank you so much for the memorable open day at your school. We enjoyed every minute of it – especially the assembly. We loved the atmosphere at the school.

Sometimes you just want to hear it from the horse’s mouth…
“In September 2003, I began attending the Waldorf School of South West London. The environment was peaceful, but it was very different to what I was used to. The teaching methods were similar for the younger classes as they had been in America, but I found that the teaching methods for the older classes were very different here. They allowed more responsibility for the student and there was more room for your own intellectual development.
In some ways it was scary and it seemed impossible to take on all that responsibility, but in others it was a challenge I was willing to accept. The first year at the school I struggled with myself on these grounds and tested the boundaries to see where I stood. It was a very educating year and though I hadn’t realised it, I actually learned more in that year about different subjects (and myself for that matter) than I had in the whole three years I had been in mainstream schools, trying to stereotype myself and somehow managing not to allow any room for development of my inner self.” Thoughts of Class 8 pupil
Thoughts from members of the community who attended the School Open Day in May 2009:
“Thank you for such a great insight into Steiner education. It was great to get a chance to learn more about Class I to Class VIII and have a chance to ask lots of questions.”
“I attended the science class. I was inspired with the methods used to connect the child’s personal experience of the world with the subject. Also, the way children were encouraged to develop their own interest to drive their own experimentation in learning was good to see.”
“My science lesson was an invaluable experience that helped me to get over the fear of sending my children to a school that seems very different from my own experience. I am particularly impressed with the ethos of empowering the children to use their initiative.”
