Ahead of schedule!

We are now ahead of schedule! The plasterboard has gone, the electrics too, not much else left….not even a loo!

The building is being dismantled tomorrow and I must reiterate that the area behind the metal fencing will be strictly closed to anyone other than Log Trade LTD staff. However, we still need help in the brick building with all the packing and we will need help again retrieving all the school equipment from various locations – MORE INFORMATION AND DATES TO FOLLOW.

Childcare: stow them safely whilst you help

To clear up any confusion, Jamal would just like to reiterate a few points. For the 15th, 16th and 17th July, children from Classes 6, 7 & 8 may help. (I am sorry to say that, should you arrive with children under this age, we will ask you to leave them at the creche* or take them home.) As of the 18th July, the site is strictly over 18s only.

Mihali and I look forward to seeing you on Wed 21 at 33 Ryecroft Road SW16 for a creche slot. If Hannah is willing to come over and help that would be great, otherwise it will be just Mihali and I. Sophie, India and Daisy will be back from hols this weekend and as they are our immediate neighbours, I reckon I could rope them in to do a couple of hours, with luck

A final goodbye to Woodfields

After the last Woodfields Summer Fair that took place on Saturday,26th June 2010 we held a ceremony to celebrate and bring to a close our time on this beautiful`Woodfields`site. We blessed the future of The Waldorf School of South West London and celebrated its past 25 years. This picture shows the hands of Pat, one of the first teachers at our school, protecting a candle taken from the central flame representing the strong spirit of our school community.

A wonderful Summer Fair

Many thanks to everyone in the Community who worked on our Summer Fair 2010. The 26th June was a boiling hot and thoroughly memorable Saturday. The music, the raffle, the BBQ, the cafe, face painting, the maze, the wool workshop, the carousel (!) and the dragon. Thank you to every hard worker and to all the many visitors who came.

With music, food and and fun, our Summer Fair has always been worth attending. This year we are planning a bumper as we celebrate 25 years of our school and bid goodbye to our lovely current site at Woodfields. Saturday 26th June 2010, 11am to 5pm. This event is always more of a park festival than a school fair and all from the Tooting/Streatham area and beyond are welcome to attend. Live music, delicious food, BBQ, story telling, and kids activities! If you would like to have a stall, just turn up from early on the day (£20 per stall).

Saturday 15th May 2010 is the diary date you need if you are up to a barnstorming community social event! Live music from the Northern Celts, plus Petrusco, fire juggler and Labyrinth Betty and the magic trunk! All over 18s welcome at Balham Bowling Club in Ramsden Road SW12. 7pm – midnight, Yee Ha!

PTFA Barn Dance – 15th May 2010

Barn Dance’ Summer Social is taking place on Saturday 15th May 2010 at BBC (Balham Bowls Club) Ramsden Road, SW12 (opposite Waitrose car park entrance) from 7pm – 12am. The social is open to all; friends, family, the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker. It is a public event for over 18’s only! … get your gingham ready for a truly spectacular evening celebrating school, art, and a summer of fun! Cost etc will appear here nearer the time. Yee ha!
