The school's mailing list allows subscribers to exchange email with all other subscribers and participate in discussion about the school and anything else appropriate.
Membership is open to anyone with a genuine interest in the school and its work and, after initial approval by the list administrator, subscriptions are managed by each individual user.
The mailing list runs using Mailman software, which is configured as follows:
- The mailing list address (to which mail should be sent to appear on the list) is: school-l@waldorf-swlondon.org
- Users manage their own subscriptions via the web page at: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman//listinfo/school-l This page can also be found by following the link on the Discussion mailing list page.
- The mailing list is administered via the web page at: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/admin/school-l
- Configuring the mailing list requires the use of a password. This password is known to the webmaster.
- The list-administrators are currently listed as: webmaster at waldorf-swlondon.org
- Any mail sent to the list address from non-subscribers is held awaiting approval by the list administrator (and is usually discarded as spam).
- Mail received to the list address from registered subscribers is re-sent immediately to all other subscribers on the list and is then archived.
- The addresses of subscribers are not made available to anyone else on the list—only the administrators may view the list of subscribers.
- All requests for subscriptions or to unsubscribe from the list will result in the list administrator receiving an email informing them of the event. New subscriptions require the approval of the administrator and prospective subscribers will be ignored unless they also email the webmaster to introduce themselves.
- There are various messages generated by Mailman which can be edited to suit the particulars of the list. These can be edited via the admin page.
- The behaviour of the list may be altered at any time, but great care should be exercised and advice taken before proceeding with any changes to the configuration.
